GAP favorites for a Great Price

GAP Favorites
Over the holiday’s I ventured into GAP to see what they had to offer….GAP can be such a hit and miss.  Luckily, I stumbled across a few items that have turned out to be my favorites.  These items are all so versatile, soft, comfy and best of all GREAT prices.
*The white henley (which I bought 2 other colors) is so soft.  I’ve kept this shirt very casual with joggers, but I’ve also dressed it up with some cute jeans or black pants and fun accessories.
*The red henley is from GAP body and hands down is the greatest shirt to sleep in.  On top of that it is lightweight and I love that it doesn’t loose its shape throughout the night. (also comes in a tank style)
*The backpacks are AWESOME.  My girlfriends and I all have them and since I had just bought a new purse, I turned mine into my gym bag.  It carries my headphones, gum and bands.  I of course got the black, but my girlfriend got the pink and it’s very cute.
All of these items are an additional 40% as always with GAP.
Get online and get yours before they are gone!

Great dresses @ Urban Outfitters

Happy Saturday everyone.  I’m excited to announce that I am back!!!!  Summer has been a bit busy with the kids and I had to just stop and breath about blogging. (I may or may not let this thing stress me out;))))  But, my husband has encouraged to get back into it and I’m glad because I really do love sharing my favorite things.

Last week, while the girls and I were at the mall, I decided to hit up Urban Outfitters to look for a dress and ended up with 3!  All 3 are great everyday dresses but, are very versatile and can be worn for many different occasions.  Both dresses come is several different prints that are all really cute. I’ve worn both and got a lot of compliments on both!!!

Super soft, awesome pockets, & very minimal wrinkling

Comfy, light weight(not see through), minimal wrinkling.

NOTE:  I washed both dresses on delicate cycle, cold, and hung to dry.

Weekend Fun Recap

Our weekend was full of fun.  On Friday, Hattie and I had lunch with Gracie and a few of her friends.  She requested Chick-fli-a.  It was so nice not having to pack another lunch…I know all you moms feel my pain.  It’s so fun to see Gracie with her friends and I love that they are all such sweet little girls.  They were all full of giggles and shared so many cute things about themselves.  If you notice in the photo, Gracie is wearing a fake ankle brace she bought with her cousins….she told her friends that she fell out of bed and twisted her ankle.  It’s so incredible that all of them truly believed her, kids are so gullible;)

My little lunch buddies

Hattie’s shirt was Gracie’s, but similar here and here. Gracie’s top is from Justice here.

After Gracie went to that adorable paint party, she wanted to paint a larger picture.  So we had the neighbor girls over and they all painted away.  I drew Hattie and elephant she picked out and Gracie did her own thing.  They all turned out so adorable, it’s fun to see their creativity.  We love having such great neighbors with such sweet little girls, they are the bestest of friends.

Later that night, DJ and I went out to dinner.  It’s funny how early I ask the babysitter to come over now days…we just kind of want to get out ASAP, we need a break.  And secondly, the older we get, we like an early bedtime (well I do anyways).  If you know DJ and I then you know that Dad’s and Dudes is our favorite restaurant in the area.  They are a local brewery and pizzeria that is hands down the best….their combinations are spot on with the brews and the pizzas. The Munchies pizza is our all time favorite pizza and our friends all agree…the jalapenos and chunks of ricotta are to die for(can you tell how much I love this place?!?!?) So seriously if you live in the area, run out and try it, you won’t be disappointed.

Also, I am excited to share this great tank.  It comes in a variety of solid and stripes.  The fabric is so soft and and thick so it’s not see through.  I love how the shoulders and neck cut in, it gives the shoulders a more defined look.  With this type of top, a bra can be tricky so here is what I wore and it did the trick perfectly.

Weekend at the Reservoir

It is so awesome to live in Colorado.  There is so much to do outdoors and we are lucky enough to have a reservoir right in our backyard.  It is full of pavilions, BBQ’s,  bike paths, a park and of course a sandy beach area for play.  We loaded up the sand toys and headed over.  The girls dug and created mazes for their crawdads we caught and of course Hattie swung and chased bubbles.  The weather was perfect and they played for hours.

On the lookout for crawfish

With the girls loving to be outside all of the time, I’ve ended up buying them more play/comfy clothes this spring.  I buy a lot of the terry cotton shorts with a variety of tanks.  Gracie is going through a Justice phase (lord help me;)) ha and of course I still have full control over Hattie;)

Check out some of Gracie’s favorite shorts here and here and here favorite tanks here and here.

Check out Hattie’s short here and her tanks here and here.

My shorts are the J. Crew New Balance athletic shorts and I love the fit and the length.  I got mine on sale and they are still on SALE with the code SHOPSTYLE as of today.  My tank is another favorite workout top that can be worn both in and out of the gym.

Apron Cross Back Tank

I found another great basic tee tank to add to my collection and it’s under $30.00.  It is the apron cross back tank from Madewell.  I love this tank so much because like I said, it is very basic and I can wear it in the day, but very versatile and can be dressed up for going out.  The cross back and buttons on this top give it just the right amount of detail to set it off….so cute.  You can also uncross the straps for a different look.  This tank has a slight flare (hence it’s called the apron tank), but doesn’t feel sloppy. You can also purchase this tank from Nordstrom😉 AND if you haven’t checked out my white jeans from my earlier post, you have to now!!!! They are my AE jeans and I swear by them.  I bought mine in short length for a slight cropped look.

Sweater Tanks

Who says sweaters are just for winter???  While at the mall the other day, I found several sweater tank tops in every store and I loved all of them.  I ended up getting mine from Madewell if that is a shocker to anyone:)  I just loved the reddish orange color so much for spring and summer and the cut is so flattering.  But,  I also found one almost identical to it from Old Navy and it’s super cute and a great price.  Both sweaters come in 3 colors.  It is a great staple piece that can be dressed up or down. Currently I am wearing mine with denim and my white jeans. In the summer, I’ll wear my denim white and blue shorts.  Also this top would be adorable paired with a flowy skirt.  I have rounded up some tops below.

Again I am wearing my favorite jeans similar here and my favorite J. Crew leather flip flops here 30% off today.  (I’ve had them 3 years, they hold up so well.)  But what I am most excited to share is my earrings.  They are oversized tortoise hoops that make a great statement piece, I got a lot of compliments on them.  They are under $20.00 with 30% off today and come in 2 other colors.  My necklace is Stella and Dot and I never take it off;)

Here are some similar sweaters I loved as well:

1 Tee, Endless Possibilities

We all a good tee that can be worn with everything right?!?!? Well I found two that I love and I am so excited to share them with you all.  The first one is from TOPSHOP at Nordstrom.  It is $20.00 and I like this tee for many reasons.  First off, this tee isn’t fitted, it is like a regular t-shirt, but not as long…..don’t worry, it’s not a crop top, but it shorter than regular tees. The material is a little thicker so it’s not see through and you won’t get those annoying tiny holes near the bottom.  I also like the slight distressed look to give it a little something extra. I loved this tee so much, that I bought it in 4 colors.  It also comes in a black and white stripe which is adorable.  They also have a few maternity options….here and here.

The second tee is the vintage wash crew neck tee from GAP.   These tees are the perfect fit: not fitted, but slightly loose and a great length.  The material is so soft and not see through.  It is a very clean cut tee.  I own several of these tees and they have held up so well and no little holes near the bottom.  Both tees are great to have, just slightly different styles depending on what you are going for.

More than loving these t-shirts so much, I wanted to share the possibilities that come with them.  I have learned that the t-shirt is the most versatile item in your closet and can be worn with just about anything for any occasion.  The biggest thing that I do to my t-shirt outfit is add fun accessories and shoes.

Here are some possibilities:

I’ve shared the black tee, but any color works!

1/2/3/4/5/6

1/2/3/4/5/6/7

Tips:

  1.  All jean colors and styles work with a tee. (black, gray, dark denim, white, distressed, boyfriend)
  2. Shoes and accessories change the outfit for different occasions.
  3. Think about where you are going when creating your outfit…..my girlfriends and I often go to our favorite pizza and brewery restaurant which is casual….I would wear the distressed jeans with the statement earrings and my flats for a little something extra.

The Chambray Shirt

I think the Chambray shirt is a must in everyone’s closet.  It’s the shirt that can be worn from season to season with so many options.  My last favorite chambray shirt was from J. Crew…..I wore it so much that it finally got a hole in the armpit area.  (I had it for 4 years).  It is so soft, comfy and goes with everything and 30% off.  But last weekend when I took Gracie to the mall to get some spring clothes, I came across the perfect chambray shirt at GAP KIDS….crazy right?!?!  I decided to just go ahead and try it on and seriously it fit so perfectly. I ended up only paying $17.00 for it…..YAY!!!!  They also have this same shirt in the adult GAP for 40-50% as well.  They are both so soft, the color is perfect and I love the snap buttons.  For size reference, I got the XL in kids.  More options:  herehere , here and here.

My other favorite chambray shirt is from MADEWELL.  It is the short sleeve version and is soooo adorable.  This is the perfect spring and summer shirt.

My Favorite Jacket

Today I got thinking about my favorite jacket and how much I wear it year round even in the summer.  It is my green army jacket that I purchased at H&M when I lived in Pittsburgh.  Jackets of course add extra warmth, but they also make a great accessory to any outfit and can be worn with so much.  This style of jacket is not heavy and is very easy to move around in, I rarely take it off when I wear it.  My tip is to make sure that the jacket has a waistline to create a more finished and tailored look.  The outfit possibilities are endless with this jacket.

(I’ve been practicing using my tripod for pics;))

Black turtleneck sweater and booties

Black hoodie with white jeans and sneakers

My very adorable friend Emily wore her jacket with black pants, a white tee, an adorable scarf with her New Balances sneakers to lunch the other day.  ( I wish I would have snapped a pic)

Here are a few jackets that I found from a few of my favorite stores:

Here are the links to the jackets…Some come in a variety of colors and they are very cute and versatile as well.  Most of these jackets are on SALE!!!!!!
